I was slumped upon the roadside
Half-dead fighting for my life
And wondering when will my pain end
With no way for help to be sent I was
Resigned to my fate as the sun sets on my life
So sure that these were my last breaths
I didn't see the car in the distance

It was like Adam and Eve when
They discovered feeling
There really was so much they could try
And I'm so close to seeing it
But life has gone and kicked the dirt in my eyes

Dehydrated damn my mouth was dry
And I was sweating sticking to my shirt
Pools of my own blood forming in the dirt I was
Resigned to my fate as the sun sets on my life
So sure that these were my last breaths
I didn't see the car in the distance

It was like Adam and Eve when
They discovered feeling
There really was so much they could try
And I'm so close to seeing it
But life has gone and kicked the dirt in my eyes

I spotted him upon the roadside
I hit the dirt knocked the car out of drive
He was face down and bleeding real bad
I dragged and laid his body down in the back
He had turned white
But his eyes turned black not unlike the night
He was mumbling not making much sense
Drifting in and out of consciousness

Oh he whispered to me that
He could finally see and
I should've upped and left him to die
Because I'm so close to seeing it
But life has gone and kicked the dirt in my eyes
